Marvellous Minds Tuition is an education organisation offering targeted tuition, educational support as well as national exams to students aged 5 to 18. We work closely with local families, charities, schools and local authorities to provide a bespoke and effective service to help students reach their academic goals.
Our Bedford site is part of a wider Marvellous Minds group with other centres located in St Albans and Kettering. We pride ourselves on bringing high quality Maths, English and Science tuition to the high street, at an affordable price. Our aim is to help students gain the confidence and skills needed to meet their academic goals.
About the role
This role is a great opportunity for you to further develop leadership and management skills in a fast-growing education company. You will work closely at management level as part of a small, ambitious and energetic team. As Assistant Centre Director, you will be supporting the Centre Director in running and developing the centre.
Responsibilities include
•Teaching; you will have a caseload of students that you teach on a regular basis whether this be 1:1 or in a group setting
•Management; helping with the day-to-day running of the centre including administration of students and tutors, dealing with new enquiries, utilising our online system to facilitate client payment and lesson scheduling, compiling class timetables, liaising with new and existing parents as well as assisting with the management and recruitment of a team of tutors and junior staff members.
•Customer service; maintaining good relationships and high standard of professionalism with parents, students and tutors
•Administration: diary and inbox management, managing finances and invoices from our clients
•Examinations: you will be assisting with the examination administration during exam series.

Skills/Experience required:
•Previous experience working with children, including those with SEN and SEMH.
•Good knowledge of the U.K. education system, and teaching experience.
•Good knowledge of the national curriculum
•Previous experience managing a team highly beneficial
•Exceptional organisational and time-keeping skills
•Able to work well with others and quickly build rapport
•A willingness to respond constructively to feedback and develop

This is a permanent role, requiring a minimum of 20 hours of commitment a week, with the potential to be full time depending on the applicant.
Please note the pay is based on a full-time rate of £30,000 per annum, on a pro rata basis. Overtime paid at £18 an hour.
