Overview
We are seeking a Senior Practitioner to cover maternity leave, 37 hours per week, for under-12-year-olds. This is a role within Coventry City Council’s Children and Families service.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Practitioner, you will work closely with other senior practitioners to support and develop newly qualified social workers, deputise for the team manager, and undertake a range of work covering children’s journeys from the Interim Care Order through to their final care plan. Duties include care planning, future planning and court work, with a focus on evidence-based practice and needs-led outcomes.
* Lead and contribute to casework and care planning for children and families.
* Support, supervise, and develop newly qualified social workers.
* Deputise for the team manager as required.
* Engage in statutory work within the child protection and court arena as appropriate.
* Work across the service to ensure high-quality, outcome-focused practice.
Qualifications and Experience
* A current registration with Social Work England.
* A sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
* A proven ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions.
* Knowledge of assessment methods, care management and casework methods.
* Experience of carrying out a range of statutory work with adults, children and housing matters.
* Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with adults, children, young people and families.
