Cardiff and Vale University Health Board
Clinical Academic Tutor / Senior Clinical Academic Tutor
Closing date: 06 June 2025
The South Wales Doctoral Training Programme in Clinical Psychology is seeking to appoint new staff members due to increased trainee numbers. We have up to 1.3 FTE hours available, with posts at agenda for change (A4C) grade 8a (£54,550 - £61,412) or 8b (£63,149 - £73,378), depending on experience. These positions are part-time at approximately 0.6 FTE, with some flexibility for fewer hours.
We are also willing to assist a successful candidate interested in working full-time to find additional clinical sessions within our collaborating NHS Health Boards.
Main duties of the job
The roles involve acting as an appraisal tutor (line-manager of trainee clinical psychologists) and providing research supervision, either as a primary or secondary supervisor. We welcome staff with research interests or experience supporting trainee development. Candidates should be HCPC registered practitioner psychologists from any specialism, with a particular interest in Older Adult Services. We seek applicants with research expertise or a research portfolio and experience supervising trainees. Since the programme supports secondary accreditation, candidates with BABCP or AFT accreditation are preferred. For grade 8b appointments, leading specific administrative aspects of the programme, such as chairing subcommittees or leading programme delivery areas, is expected.
Proficiency in Welsh is desirable; applications from Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome.
