RMS is collaborating with a prestigious automotive client, and we are seeking several PDI Operatives to join our dedicated team. Our client is renowned for their comprehensive vehicle services, including storage, inspection, maintenance, dispatch, and transportation. * Position: PDI Operative
* Type: Temporary Ongoing
* Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Monday-Friday. 2x Shift Rotation 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm
* Salary: £13.33 per hour. Overtime and Unsociable hours at an increased rate.
About the role
Working under the supervision and coordination of the Workshop Manager and team leaders, you will perform various inspection checks on newly manufactured vehicles, completing a full Pre-Delivery Inspection, including compound handling, to prepare them for dealerships.
Key responsibilities of the role:
* Carrying out pre-delivery inspection checks including: removal of manufacturing vehicle packaging, installation of transmit protections, fluid level checks, function checks, checking for any spare items required, aligning and adding model specification protections.
* Performing appropriate testing on vehicles including: checking they meet interior specifications, onboard computer and electrical accessories, testing all light and safety features.
* Performing inspections and quality checks including: inspecting the exterior of the vehicle for damage, checking the interior, spare wheel, and jack.
* Reporting any damage and discrepancies to the management team.
* Completing all relevant paperwork.
* Ensuring health & safety procedures are followed at all times.
* Maintaining ISO 9002 procedures at all times.
* Undertaking other duties as directed, commensurate with the level of the job function.
About you
* You must be over 22 years old, possess a valid driver’s license with fewer than 6 penalty points, and have no DR10 offenses for insurance purposes.
* You must be able to work the specified shift times above.
* Previous experience within the automotive industry in a quality-related function is preferred.
* An enthusiastic and positive attitude towards work, ability to remain calm under pressure, and a strong work ethic are essential.
* A basic understanding of health and safety regulations and cooperation with managers to comply with them is required.
