It is an exciting time to join the Cabinet Office (CO). The occupational health team and adjustments team have recently merged to form a single entity that aims to support employees and managers in occupational health matters and in the implementation of workplace adjustments. We expect an upward trend in the team�s breadth and depth of support provided to staff and managers.
For 2024 and beyond, our aim is to further strengthen the arrangements we have in place for operational delivery; secure enhanced contract management arrangements; establish and implement a communications strategy; and seek out engagement opportunities with public sector organisations.
The workplace adjustments case manager will play a pivotal role in the implementation of our aims.
Job description
Responsibilities include and not limited to:
Operational delivery:
1. To proactively monitor the team�s mailbox for requests received.
2. Respond to requests for advice promptly.
3. Triage requests and organise meetings where necessary to discuss the implementation of adjustments.
4. Meet with managers and their employees to determine how adjustments will be implemented.
5. Coordinate the implementation of adjustments with internal and external stakeholders ensuring the team�s case management system is updated to reflect actions taken.
6. In consultation with the head of operational delivery, regularly review progress of cases and complete agreed actions escalating where appropriate.��
Communications:
7. Regularly review and update intranet guidance to reflect the team�s current operating model; organise promotional events for the Department�s workforce; and develop and create survey forms to capture user experiences.
Stakeholder engagement:
8. Contribute to the creation of dashboards to report the team�s performance to the senior leaders and committees.�
9. Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with a range of stakeholders to share knowledge, experiences and ideas.
10. Stakeholders include: the Department�s disability networks; the civil service workplace adjustments network; other public sector organisations.
Finance:
11. Maintain accurate records on spend on adjustments and report spend on a regular basis.
Review and audit:
12. Contribute to six monthly reviews of the team operating model to identify areas of success and improvement; and support in the implementation of recommendations to improve the team�s position.
Person specification
This role is fundamentally about providing robust case management in sometimes complex or emotive situations. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate an ability to be customer facing with high levels of empathy supported by working methodically and accurately in a fast paced high volume environment. This post is ideally suited to someone coming from an operational delivery or advisory background.
Essential criteria:
13. Experience of working in a customer focused operational delivery.
14. Experience of working proactively and with minimal supervision.
15. Experience in effectively planning, prioritising and working under pressure.
16. HR experience.
Desirable criteria:
17. Organising and supporting the delivery of events.
18. Finance record keeping.
Additional information:
A minimum 60% of your working time should be spent at your principal workplace. Although requirements to attend other locations for official business will also count towards this level of attendance.
