* Pay Level: 7 £41,873 to £47,238 inclusive of Local Weighting Allowance of £1096 per annum
* Contract Type: Permanent

* Location: Slough, Berkshire/ Hybrid

What you'll be doing:

Duties will include responding to and investigating complex complaints in relation to nuisance, fly tipping, pests, stray dogs, animal welfare, and other environment issues and offences. The post holder will be required to take formal action, including the service of financial penalties and prosecution. The role will also be responsible for discharging the Council's duties in relation to public health burials.

In addition, this work could include inspections and site visits to ascertain compliance with applicable environmental legislation and any other legislation, codes of practice, and regulations used or applied within the remit of the role and the service's responsibilities.

You must have a comprehensive environmental health knowledge to effectively support and supervise the Senior Housing Enforcement Officers you are responsible for.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring officers follow robust operating procedures and keep these under routine review. You will need to stay up to date with relevant environmental health legislation/guidance to help inform the team.

You will need to be an excellent communicator with the ability to effectively organise workloads on your own. You will need comprehensive computer skills and be able to effectively deliver verbal communications. Excellent report writing skills and the ability to create / oversee comprehensive prosecution files a paramount requirements for this role.

Annual increments, where applicable, are usually payable on 1st April each year, subject to six months' service in the post, until the maximum level of the spinal column has been reached. The payment of annual increments is not automatic and is subject to satisfactory performance as assessed by your Director.
