Senior Accountant – Boutique Practice | North London
Salary - £50,000 - £55,000

The Opportunity
This position plays a key role in supporting the Managing Partner, allowing them to focus on business development and client growth. You will join a close-knit team of five, based in North London, and report directly to senior leadership.
While the role offers a high degree of autonomy, you will also collaborate with colleagues and oversee key operational areas including bookkeeping and payroll.
Your responsibilities will be split across two core areas:
Client Portfolio Management (approx. 80%)
* Preparing statutory accounts for review by senior leadership
* Supporting day-to-day operational delivery across the firm
* Acting as a primary point of contact for client queries and requirements
* Attending client meetings when needed
* Overseeing bookkeeping processes, including VAT accuracy
* Supervising payroll activities to ensure timely delivery
* Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients
Systems & Process Improvement (approx. 20%)
* Managing onboarding of new clients, including data migration
* Developing and maintaining efficient reconciliation processes
* Identifying and implementing improvements to internal systems
* Working closely with the Managing Partner to align on process changes
* Leading internal discussions to roll out improvements
* Ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures
About You
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA or equivalent) with strong commercial awareness
* Proven experience using Xero, including system migrations
* Background managing a portfolio of 50+ clients
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
* Comfortable working independently while contributing to a team
* Eligible to work in the UK
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
