As a Process Safety Engineer in our Net Zero Division, you'll be part of a talented team designing complex new schemes to protect our clients' assets. You can point to outcomes that improve thousands of lives and say, "I helped to make this happen."

Your Purpose

We are looking for a principal process safety engineer to join our Net Zero Energy Practice.


Responsibilities

* This position would be based in central Scotland (Glasgow, Edinburgh, Bellshill), Bristol or Stockton, with a flexible mixture of home-working and office collaboration time expected.
* We also welcome applicants wishing to work part-time.
* Be versatile; you could be working on several small projects, writing bids, or overseeing juniors to deliver scope.
* Execute and steer technical delivery of process safety projects.
* Collaborate with other disciplines on design projects.
* Produce or provide input to proposals.
* Provide quality technical advice to clients and internal teams.
* Oversee and coach juniors, delegating tasks and checking calculations and deliverables.


What You Can Bring

* High attention to detail to deliver or check quality deliverables; prior experience in consequence modelling software for Major Accident Hazard scenarios.
* Knowledge of hazard workshops (e.g., HAZOP, LOPA, HAZID).
* Proven knowledge of legislative requirements associated with major hazards (e.g., COMAH & DSEAR). Ability to prepare proposals, coordinate bids/proposals and win new projects; proven collaboration skills to work within multi-disciplinary teams.
* Consequence modelling of Major Accident Hazard scenarios, and QRAs; Hazardous Area Classification & DSEAR assessments.
* Preparing HSE study reports in line with client standards to support project requirements.
* Depending on project phase, this may include philosophy documents or detailed calculations.
* Leading HAZOP and LOPA workshops, including preparing Terms of Reference and delivering on delivery/cost targets without compromising quality.
* University degree in an appropriate science, engineering, or equivalent experience and qualification.
* Experience working in highly regulated process and energy-related industries with a customer-focused service approach.

Security Clearance

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed at interview.
