Job Description
The successful candidate will primarily focus on air conditioning systems while also providing first-line reactive maintenance for electrical and switchgear issues.
You will undertake planned preventative maintenance (PPM), proactive and reactive tasks within agreed SLAs, and participate in out-of-hours callout duties on a rota basis. Occasional planned night work may be required as per the PPM schedule.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, including Risk Assessment, F-Gas, LV Safe Systems of Work, and COSHH.
2. Undertake PPM, proactive and reactive works issued through the helpdesk within relevant SLAs.
3. Deliver tasks to exceed customer expectations and maintain high service standards.
4. Provide first-line reactive maintenance for electrical and switchgear issues alongside air conditioning duties.
5. Participate in out-of-hours callout response (minimum 1 in 4) and occasional planned night work.
6. Carry out contractor control duties, including monitoring workmanship and issuing Permits to Work.
7. Ensure equipment operates to specified performance criteria and surrounding areas meet company standards.
8. Perform fault finding, repairs, maintenance, and installations on client sites across designated regions.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
Essential Qualifications & Experience
9. Proven experience working on air conditioning systems (e.g., pressure leak tests, compressor changes).
10. City & Guilds 2079 Safe Handling of Refrigerants or CITB J11 equivalent.
11. NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds in Commercial Refrigeration and AC Systems.
12. Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable Qualifications
13. Qualified Electrician with 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations (BS:7671:2008).
14. Recognised apprenticeship in air conditioning.
15. Strong understanding of electrical fundamentals and LV distribution.
