This is a mixed position of Deli and Store shifts.
Schedule- Weekly:
DELI - Sunday 8am-1pm, Monday 8am -1 pm
STORE - Tuesday 7am-12, Wednesday 12-5pm, Sunday 7am pm
A Retail Employee is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while maintaining the day-to-day operations of the store. This includes assisting customers, processing transactions, and ensuring the store is clean, organized, and welcoming. Retail Employees play a vital role in achieving sales goals, enhancing the shopping experience, and ensuring that the store operates efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Customer service
Greet and assist customers
Provide Product knowledge
Encourage and promote special offers
Up sell and cross sell items based upon the customer's needs
Store Maintenance
Keep store clean and organised and visually appealing at all times
Ensure shelves are well stocked
Cash Handling
Operate cash registers, process payments (cash, Credit etc) and provide accurate change
Maintain accuracy when scanning items
Follow company procedures
Loss prevention
Adhere to store security policies and procedures to minimise loss and theft
Report any suspicious activity to management
Time keeping
* Arrive on time for shifts
* Manage time throughout shifts to ensure excellent productivity
Food Preparation & Handling:
* Slice, prepare, and package deli meats, cheeses, and other products according to customer specifications.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked deli counter and display cases.
* Ensure all products are properly labelled with prices, ingredients, allergens and any necessary handling or storage instructions.
* Ensure food is cooked to standard following all cooking instructions
* Ensure all hot food items are temperature checked after cooking and whilst in the hot cabinet.
* Assist with the preparation of ready-to-eat deli salads, sandwiches, and other food items.
* Monitor product freshness and quality, ensuring that any items nearing expiration are removed from display and replaced as necessary.
Food Safety & Hygiene:
* Follow all health and safety regulations, including maintaining cleanliness and proper hygiene at the deli counter.
* Adhere to all food safety practices, including hand washing, proper storage, and handling of food items.
* Regularly sanitize workstations, equipment, and utensils to prevent cross-contamination and ensure food safety.
Other Duties:
* Assist with store opening and closing duties, including cleaning, restocking, and organizing the deli area.
* Perform any other duties as required by the Deli Manager or Store Manager.
