Working Hours:
You will be contracted to work up to ten hours per dayseven days per week whilst on board; these exact hours and timingswill vary from day to day dependent on the needs of thebusiness.
In order tocomply with ILO directives it is your personal responsibility toensure that you receive a minimum of ten hours rest in each 24hourperiod (you will receive specific training on this prior tojoining).
As part ofthe department s management the ETM must remain flexible and beprepared for the working hours to change to support theentertainment programme or rectify any technical issues that mightarise.

JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to theCruise Director the Entertainment Technical Manager will direct andmanage the Entertainment Technical team on board and support theCruise Director in delivering the entertainment programme makingsure the technical side of the operation runs efficiently andsmoothly.
The EntertainmentTechnical team consists of a Broadcast Manager 3 Senior Technicians(Sound Lighting and Stage Manager) and 5 Entertainment Technicians.The Entertainment Technical team is part of the EntertainmentDepartment which also includes of a team of Entertainment HostsShow Cast Members a Children s Host team as well as a MusicalDirector and team of Resident Musicians. The EntertainmentDepartment is directed and coordinated by the Cruise Director andAssistant Cruise Director.
As the Manager incharge of the Entertainment Technical Department you will be incharge of every technical aspect of the entertainment operation onboard ranging from the sound lighting video and automation in alllounges and venues ship wide. You will make sure that all thetechnical needs from the Show Cast the Musicians EntertainmentHosts are met on a daily basis and coordinate the setup of all AVsystems on board to ensure the programme delivery. You will also berequired to operate the AV systems nightlybasis.
As the Entertainment Technical Manager youwill be the link between ted s Technical department shoreside andthe ship. You will make sure that all production shows lightentertainment live music sets and events are delivered up to thehighest technical standard on board and are up to the standardsagreed during the initial ship
install period and teamchangeover periods.
As one of thedepartment managers you will be in charge of the dailyEntertainment Technical schedule making sure all events on boardare appropriately manned and supported. You will manage theEntertainment Technical team on a daily basis and be in charge ofthe training of the Entertainment Technicians in order to helptheir career progression within the company. You will also overseethe Broadcast operation and make sure the Broadcast Manager issupported and coached in the performance of theirduties.
As the Entertainment Technical Manager youwill also be responsible for the maintenance repair and replacementof the entertainment technical assets onboard. You will have towork alongside the ship technical department on board to ensurethat repairs are carried out in a timely fashion and the deliveryof the
entertainment product is notaffected.
As a member of theEntertainment Department a position of responsibility will be heldwith regards to emergency procedures guest mustering and drills;specific training will be received regarding this both prior tojoining and regularly on board.

KEY TASKS
Responsibilities
To support the Cruise Director indelivering the entertainment product from the technical point ofview.
To manage and direct the Entertainment Technical Teamon board making sure the day to day operation is efficient and allevents are manned.
To liaise with the Show CastManager to ensure all the cast technical needs are met and theoperation is safe from a performer s point of view at alltimes.
To liaise with the Assistant Cruise Director to meetany technical needs of the entire department are met includingvisiting guest entertainers.
To work with the AssistantCruise Director and make sure all production needs are met on adaily basis and the operation of the department isflawless.
To regularly review thetechnical operation of the department with the Assistant CruiseDirector in order to optimise workflows and make sure theentertainment delivery is
always up tostandard.
To ensure the EntertainmentTechnical team s working hours are compliant with ILOregulations.
To ensure continuity in thedelivery of the entertainment product onboard as per ted sguidelines set during the show installperiod.
To cover any of the Senior Technicians positions (soundlights automation and broadcast) in case of illness or absence ofthe crew member.
To operate AV systems in shipwide venues as required on a nightly basis.
To take ownershipof all technical assets (sound lights video automation) in eachvenue on board and coordinate the maintenanceschedule.
To coach and guide the juniormembers of the team and put a training programme in place to allowcareer progression within the company.
To establish andmaintain a good working relationship with the onboard ChiefEngineer Electrician and other officers to make sure all repairsare carried out in a
timely fashion so not to affectthe product delivery.
To coordinate and direct theBroadcast operation being the sole reporting point for theBroadcast manager. To facilitate the Broadcast recording editingand streaming
operation by supporting theBroadcast manager in the daily performance of hisduties.
To be flexible and ready to adapt to the constantlyevolving needs of the entertainment department on boardreorganising the team s schedule to meet the new needs of theoperation under the direction of the CruiseDirector.
To take ownership of thedepartments Health & Safety requirements and ensure thatall risk assessments are adhered to and implemented. Ensure thatall the
entertainment operation is compliant with the companyH&S directives and the working methods are safe at alltimes.
To attend regular meetings with other onboardmanagement. Work closely with the Safety Officer to assessdepartment Health & Safety policies and ensure that theentertainment operation is compliant with Marella s onboardguidelines.
To ensure your appearance andgrooming guidelines are maintained at alltimes.
To uphold the standards set out in yourtraining.
A position of onboardresponsibility will be held with regards to emergency proceduresguest mustering and drills (full training received onboard).
Experience &Skillset
The Entertainment TechnicalManager should have at least 3 years of relevant industryexperience and/ or qualifications in production management projectmanagement theatre
technical management orsimilar.
Operational sound lighting or stagemanagement or equivalent or relevant work experience is mandatoryas well a thorough understanding of a vast range of modern audiovisual
equipment.
Good knowledge ofdigital sound mixing console (Soundcraft Yamaha and Digico) digitalaudio processing Grand MA 2 lighting desks and stage automationsystems is preferrable.
Experience ofworking in large venues on a variety of entertainment programmesi.e. live concerts and theatre is desirable
TheEntertainment Technical Manager must have good knowledge of Health& Safety procedures within the productionenvironment.
OtherRequirements
Must hold valid STCW training certificates prior tojoining the ship.
Must hold a full valid passportwith at least 9 months validity at time ofjoining.
Must hold a valid ENG1 or equivalent Seafarer MedicalCertificate.
Must hold relevant necessaryvisas as required.
Itis recommended that you hold a valid Seamans Book/ ID card or havecompleted an application forthis.

As one of the departmentmanagers, you will be in charge of the daily EntertainmentTechnical schedule, making sure all events on board areappropriately manned and supported. You will manage theEntertainment Technical team on a daily basis and be in charge ofthe training of the Entertainment Technicians in order to helptheir career progression within the company. You will also overseethe Broadcast operation and make sure the Broadcast Manager issupported and coached in the performance of their duties. As theEntertainment Technical Manager, you will also be responsible forthe maintenance, repair and replacement of the entertainmenttechnical assets onboard. To facilitate the Broadcast recording,editing and streaming operation by supporting the Broadcast managerin the daily performance of his duties. To take ownership of the departments Health & Safetyrequirements and ensure that all risk assessments are adhered toand implemented.
