Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor - Residential & Regeneration ProjectsSwansea - £35,000 - £45,000 per annum plus full package (car allowance, pension, healthcare, bonus)About the CompanyOur client is a well-established residential developer and contractor delivering high-quality housing and regeneration-led projects across Wales and the wider region. The business is actively involved in transforming brownfield and underutilised land into sustainable new communities, alongside traditional and mixed-tenure housing developments.With a strong pipeline of secured work, including large-scale residential schemes and regeneration-focused developments, the company is continuing to grow its commercial team and is now seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor to support delivery from its Swansea office.The RoleAs Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial team across a range of residential and regeneration projects, including both traditional housing developments and larger mixed-use or brownfield-led schemes.You will be involved in the full project lifecycle, supporting cost management from early-stage feasibility and procurement through to final accounts, ensuring strong commercial control across all live developments.This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to both standard housing and regeneration-style projects within a growing and supportive commercial environment.As Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:Assisting with the preparation of cost plans, budgets, and feasibility studies for residential and regeneration schemesSupporting land and development appraisals, including input into viability assessmentsProcuring subcontractor packages and analysing tender returnsManaging subcontractor payments, variations, and account reconciliationsCarrying out site visits across multiple live housing and regeneration projectsSupporting cost reporting, valuations, and monthly financial forecastingAssisting in the preparation of final accounts and project close-out documentationWorking closely with operational teams to ensure accurate cost control across all sitesSupporting value engineering exercises at pre-construction and delivery stagesMaintaining accurate commercial records and supporting reporting requirementsThe Ideal CandidateThe successful Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor will have:Experience within residential construction, housebuilding, or regeneration-led projectsA degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying (or working towards)Strong understanding of construction costs, procurement, and contract administrationExperience with subcontractor management and valuations (preferred but not essential for Assistant level)Good analytical and numerical skills with strong attention to detailStrong communication skills with the ability to work across multiple project teamsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and general commercial systemsA proactive attitude with a desire to develop within residential and regeneration sectorsThis role would suit an Assistant QS looking to broaden their experience or a Quantity Surveyor seeking exposure to both housing and regeneration schemes.What's on OfferSalary of £35,000 - £45,000 depending on experienceFull package including car allowance, pension, healthcare, and bonus schemeExposure to both traditional residential and regeneration-led developmentsStrong pipeline of long-term secured work across WalesSupportive commercial team with structured development and progression opportunitiesOpportunity to gain experience in large-scale community and brownfield redevelopment projectsApply: If you're interested in this opportunity, then please get in touch today with our Commercial Specialist, Mark Harris.Building Careers UK specialises in Construction and Property recruitment and serves as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
