Position: Graduate Assistant Sports Coach (One year fixed-term) Location: On site, Westbury-on-Trym BS9 3BA Hours: This is a term-time only position working 32.5 hours per week The closing date for this position will be Monday 9 June 2025 (8.00 am) Start date: 1 September 2025 Suitable candidates may be interviewed before the closing date and the school reserves the right to withdraw the position if an early appointment is made. Applicants are therefore encouraged to apply early. We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Graduate Assistant Sports Coach to support our PE department. Main Responsibilities: • To assist the PE department with curriculum lessons, co-curricular practices and the fixture program • To provide high quality coaching in either directed lesson or during activity sessions • To take training and matches as directed by the Director of Sport • Support and contribute to the teaching of the department as set out in the timetable • To be involved with planning and preparation of lessons and activities, the management of resources and compilation of assessments, records and reports as deemed necessary To be considered for this position, we are looking for the following: • Someone with a passion for, and experience of, sports coaching • All applicants should have experience working with young people in some capacity and have a general knowledge of how to enthuse, lead and manage teams or groups • Applicants should demonstrate a clear understanding of the secondary curriculum and its assessment • The right candidate will have the ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships with pupils and establish personal boundaries • They will be organised, punctual and efficient in organising workload and managing time effectively What We Offer: • Additional benefits: free lunch, free onsite parking, use of the school gym and heated swimming pool (at designated times) and access to free fitness classes are all included • Pension scheme membership (including life cover) Applicants should be aware that all email communication with HR will be sent via E-teach.
