Job Description:
We are currently partnering with a Market Leading Strategy House, focussed on Insurance clients, to recruit a Principal Consultant. The successful candidate will play a critical leadership role in the firm, responsible for shaping and delivering complex client engagements, developing long-term client relationships, and driving business growth.
You will operate as a senior strategic advisor to clients, typically at C-suite level, and will be accountable for the successful delivery of engagements, commercial outcomes, and internal capability development.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to;
* Lead major strategy and transformation engagements across the insurance industry, ensuring high-quality delivery and strong client impact.
* Build and manage long-term relationships with senior clients, acting as a trusted advisor and identifying opportunities for further collaboration.
* Own the commercial success of projects, including scope definition, delivery oversight, and client satisfaction.
* Lead and mentor consulting teams, ensuring robust analysis, clear thinking, and actionable recommendations.
* Collaborate with Partners on business development initiatives, including lead generation, proposal development, and pitch delivery.
* Shape and contribute to the firm’s intellectual capital and thought leadership.
* Play a key role in developing internal capabilities, recruitment, and mentoring across the firm.
The ideal candidate should have;
* 8-12 years of experience in strategy consulting (ideally with time at a top-tier or boutique firm) or a strategic leadership role within the insurance sector.
* Deep understanding of the insurance value chain, operating models, and market trends.
* Proven track record of successfully leading large, complex strategy engagements.
* Strong commercial acumen with experience managing client relationships and contributing to business development.
* A degree from a leading university; MBA or similar postgraduate qualification is advantageous.
