The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a Freight Forwarder to join a well‑established logistics provider based in Bolney. Working within a busy operations environment, you will be part of a supportive team and report to the senior logistics leadership. This position would suit someone who enjoys a fast‑paced role and takes pride in delivering accurate, compliant, and timely freight coordination across both air and sea.
Key responsibilities include:
* Arranging and coordinating airfreight and sea freight shipments for import and export
* Preparing and processing shipping documents including AWBs, Bills of Lading, invoices, packing lists and customs documents
* Monitoring and tracking shipments end‑to‑end using internal systems
* Communicating with airlines, shipping lines, customs brokers and clients
* Ensuring compliance with international shipping regulations and customs procedures
* Updating clients on shipment progress and resolving delivery issues
* Calculating freight costs and preparing quotations
* Maintaining accurate shipment records across logistics platforms
* Handling cargo booking, space confirmation and warehouse coordination
* Working under time pressure to meet delivery deadlines and customer expectations
Requirements
To be successful as a Freight Forwarder, you will ideally bring experience within freight forwarding or logistics operations, with exposure to air and sea freight considered highly desirable. Knowledge of international documentation, Incoterms, and customs procedures would be beneficial for this role. Strong communication, organisational abilities, problem‑solving skills, and accuracy when working with documentation are all highly desirable. Proficiency in MS Office and logistics or freight systems is also desirable.
This role could suit someone who has worked as a Logistics Coordinator, Shipping Coordinator, or Operations Administrator.
