Take ownership of our engineering strategy, lead major capital projects, implement Industry 4.0 initiatives, and ensure our manufacturing processes stay at the forefront of efficiency and capability. You will mentor and develop a diverse team of engineers and technicians, drive continuous improvement, and have direct impact on productivity, quality, safety, and the overall manufacturing footprint.
Location: Cambridge, England, United Kingdom. Schedule: Monday to Friday day shift.
Responsibilities
* Architect and execute the engineering strategy for the site.
* Lead major capital projects and implement Industry 4.0 initiatives.
* Ensure manufacturing processes remain efficient, capable, and aligned with strategic objectives.
* Mentor, motivate, and develop a diverse engineering and technician team.
* Drive continuous improvement culture and technical mastery across the operation.
* Make decisions that directly influence productivity, quality, safety, and the overall manufacturing footprint.
Who We Need / Qualifications
* Proven Leadership: extensive experience (typically 5+ years) in Engineering Management or similar senior technical leadership within a sophisticated manufacturing or high-tech production environment.
* Strategic Acumen: track record of developing and executing engineering strategies that deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, uptime, and product quality.
* Technical Authority: strong understanding across mechanical, electrical, automation (PLC, SCADA), and robotics systems. Experience with predictive maintenance technologies is valued.
* Project Mastery: ability to manage complex multi-disciplinary engineering projects, including budget oversight, timelines, and cross-functional collaboration.
* People-Centric: strong leadership skills with a focus on building, motivating, and developing high-performing teams.
* Education: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing) is essential. A Masters degree or Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is a significant advantage.
Compensation & Benefits
* Base salary: GBP 68,000 per annum.
