* To identify and break down barriers to accessing our Leisure facilities in South Kesteven.
* To connect communities through outreach programmes outside traditional leisure facilities.
* To reduce social isolation and promote independent living.
* To enhance the physical and emotional wellbeing of residents via targeted health programmes.
* To support the future of Council-owned leisure and cultural facilities in South Kesteven.
As an Assistant Swimming Teacher, your role is vital to delivering the Swim School and School Swimming programmes. These programmes are key for community engagement and contribute to the financial sustainability of our centres, enabling us to support other activities.
Your responsibilities include supporting the teaching team to plan and deliver engaging lessons following our scheme of work and guidance from National Governing Bodies. This includes assisting pupils from the water at lower stages.
This position is developmental; you will be supported to attain Swim England Level 1 and 2 Teaching Qualifications and the NRASTC rescue qualification. As you develop, you will be expected to deliver crash courses with support and eventually cover existing classes.
You will also assist with routine checks, housekeeping, and customer safety, especially during lessons.
Interacting with customers in a warm, welcoming manner is essential. You will often be the team member customers trust and build relationships with, representing LeisureSK professionally and calmly, managing issues proactively or reporting them to management.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Delivering high-quality teaching services.
* Maintaining Swim School standards in accordance with procedures.
* Planning, executing, and evaluating structured programmes using the Swim England Learn to Swim Pathway.
* Updating Swim School records with attendance and assessment data.
* Ensuring activities are fun and promoting a positive image of the Swim School and the organisation.
* Supporting additional swimming activities as needed.
* Continuing professional development to improve technical knowledge.
* Identifying pupils suitable for advanced pathways.
* Providing excellent customer care with a warm, communicative approach.
* Adhering to Health and Safety regulations to ensure a safe environment.
* Understanding and implementing Pool Safety Operating Procedures.
