Length of employment: Job Summary: The Ministry of Defence employs over 50,000 Civil Servants. Within that, the Army Top Level Budget (TLB) employs over 12,000 MOD Civil Servants located at over 300 locations. Ours is a diverse workforce, with roles ranging from trainers, human resources, teachers, and psychologists to storekeepers, financiers, project and programme managers, and policy secretariat staff. There are many different functions and professions delivering key outputs for the Army. The RSA is the Royal Artillery Centre of Excellence and plays a key role in the development of Royal Artillery procedures and the continued training to deliver trained and motivated service personnel capable of operating the latest artillery systems. 14th Regiment is the Artillery's Training Regiment, preparing and developing the Soldiers and Officers of the future. The Regiment also the enabling component of the wider School of Artillery. 14 Regiment RA Workshop REME is looking for a motivated and driven individual to join the Technical Quartermaster's department (TQMS) in the role of Storekeeper. The role of Storekeeper is hands-on and customer facing, therefore there is an expectation to be on site for most of the working week. This position is advertised at 37 hours per week. Job Description: We are looking for a friendly, well-organised and adaptable person to work alongside other civilians and military personnel and be part of the team. Key responsibilities: Keep tools and equipment in the tool store secure and fit for use, reporting any loss or damage to the TQMS. Provide a focal point to the workshop for technical information and advice. Process all demands for Expense stores. Process all receipts & issues for Expense stores, tools and equipment demanded; including highlighting discrepancy details to the TQMS. Assist the TQMS and any inspecting officer in physical stock checks and any subsequent documentation. Assist the TQMS and workshop staff to prepare equipment for backloading or issue outside the unit. Maintain an acceptable quality of service and professionalism in the discharge of Skillzone 2 Storeman duties whilst being constantly aware of health and safety aspects within areas of personal control including the health and safety of subordinate staff in accordance with JSP 375. Remain flexible and be prepared to react to emerging work within skill set. In-house and external training related to the role will be provided. Please note: A storekeeper role requires a degree of physical ability as you will be expected to handle items around the working area. In accordance with HSE guidance, the recommended maximum manual handling weight that applicants can expect to lift is 25kg (for men) or 16kg (for women). Does this sound like the role for you?
