Overview
Workshop Supervisor – Location: Woking (site-based). Salary: £32,000-£40,000 per year. Job Type: Full-time, Permanent. This is an on-going temporary contract with hours 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday, with lunch from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Opportunity to earn overtime at the weekend and evenings during busy periods.
Our client is a logistics company working within the entertainment industry, seeking a Workshop Supervisor to join their team in Woking. This role is suitable for a local, energetic individual with an interest in the entertainment industry.
Responsibilities
* Supervise workshop staff in the day-to-day running of the business.
* Assist with the preparation and maintenance of rental equipment for shows; monitor quality, productivity and efficiency of the warehouse team.
* Help manage stock, checking of jobs in and out and operate the inventory booking system.
* Loading and unloading of trucks, including during weekends.
* Prepare equipment and support the building of aluminium structures, painting of stage decks and other physical activities.
* Knowledge of power tools is an asset; carpentry skills are essential. Welding or electromechanical skills related to set building and fabrication are useful.
* Ability to drive a forklift and a clean driving license to drive a Sprinter van would be useful.
* Maintain good housekeeping of the workshop and surrounding areas to ensure health and safety requirements are met and that the building and stock are secure.
* Suggest measures for improvement and development of the warehouse.
Qualifications / Requirements
* Knowledge of power tools; carpentry skills.
* Welding or electromechanical skills related to set building and fabrication are useful.
* Forklift operation and driving a van are advantageous; a clean driving license is preferred.
* Ability to work in a hands-on, team-based environment and support the warehouse operations manager.
* All health and safety requirements should be observed; maintain cleanliness and security of the workshop and stock.
