Meet *Thomas
*Thomas is a wonderful young man who loves nature and getting outside. He has complex care needs and experiences epilepsy, so we’re looking for someone who is calm and patient.
About the Role:
As part of *Thomas’ support team, as Registered Nurse you’ll work alongside a Personal Assistant during the day, ensuring *Thomas is enjoying life to the fullest while ensuring his safety and wellbeing is prioritised.
Key Responsibilities:
* Epilepsy and Seizure Management: Administer care for complex epilepsy,
including seizure and oxygen management, and the use of a bag and mask when
necessary.
* Personalised Support: Supporting *Thomas with his daily routine and personal
care.
* Health & Well-being Monitoring: Look out for *Thomas’s safety, well-being, and
overall happiness, always keeping communication open with his family and care
team.
* The Great Outdoors: Encouraging and assisting *Thomas in getting out into nature
—for fresh air and walks.
* Be a Friendly Confidant: Build a genuine connection with *Thomas, providing
companionship, encouragement, and positivity every day.
About You:
* Nursing Degree and valid registration with NMC (or equivalent body).
* Experience with Epilepsy and Seizures: Practical experience in epilepsy
management, including familiarity with seizure management, and emergency
procedures like bag and mask.
* Experience with Autism: Previous experience supporting individuals with autism,
ensuring care is tailored to their specific needs.
* Home Care Experience: Comfort working in a private home environment, providing
compassionate care.
* Family-Oriented: A natural ability to collaborate with families, offering both practical
and emotional support.
* Similar Role Experience: Previous experience in a comparable nursing role or
working with individuals requiring complex care needs.
* Driver’s Licence is required.
