Operations Manager
Barnet | £40,000 per annum | hrs per week
We’re looking for an experienced and commercially driven Operations Manager to lead operational delivery across our Barnet contract.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring KPIs, service level agreements and contractual standards are consistently achieved. You’ll oversee Operational Support Managers, drive performance, manage resources effectively, and ensure our service is delivered safely, compliantly, and efficiently.
This role combines strong people leadership, commercial control, and community engagement, ensuring both operational excellence and positive local impact.

You’ll be responsible for shaping operational culture, holding teams accountable for results, and ensuring deployment levels, performance targets and financial controls are tightly managed.
With direct oversight of Operational Support Managers, you’ll influence performance at multiple levels while maintaining strong external relationships with local stakeholders.
What You’ll Be Doing
1. Supporting the Assistant Contract Manager in the overall delivery of the contract
2. Leading, mentoring and managing a team of Operational Support Managers
3. Ensuring operational deployment remains at or above 90% each calendar month
4. Monitoring KPIs and enforcement activity, identifying trends and implementing remedial action
5. Driving accountability for performance, attendance and service standards
6. Managing employee relations and ensuring company policies are consistently applied
7. Setting objectives, conducting appraisals and identifying training needs
8. Monitoring and managing sickness, absence and lateness
9. Managing resources effectively to meet contractual KPI requirements
10. Monitoring budgets and contract spend (payroll, uniform, supplies and operational costs)
11. Supporting client satisfaction and attending meetings with Barnet Council and key stakeholders
12. Identifying opportunities for service improvement and business development
13. Promoting safe working environments for all employees
What We’re Looking For
14. Minimum 12 months’ recent management experience at Team Manager level or above, managing Supervisors or equivalent
15. Strong people management experience within a diverse workforce
16. Proven experience monitoring KPIs and producing performance reports
17. Confident handling disciplinary and employee relations matters
18. Experience analysing data to inform operational decisions
19. Strong commercial awareness and cost-control capability
20. Experience working within a client-facing environment
21. Good working knowledge of MS Office
22. Full, clean UK driving licence
23. Commercially focused with a strong performance mindset
24. Highly organised with the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment
25. A strong communicator able to build positive working relationships internally and externally
