People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based at East Midlands Gateway, Derbyshire .
This is a fantastic opportunity offering competitive rates of pay, consistent Monday to Friday work, and the chance to secure a permanent position with a respected logistics company.
Shifts: • Monday to Friday • Start times between 04:00 and 16:00
Rates of Pay: • 06:00 – 18:00: £16.66 per hour • 18:00 – 06:00: £20.82 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties: • Safely and efficiently drive HGV Class 1 (C+E) vehicles • Complete 3–5 trunk runs per shift • Operate curtain-sider trailers and correctly secure all loads (including awkward loads) • Deliver goods to various destinations in a timely manner • Communicate effectively with the transport office and site teams • Adhere to company policies, site procedures, and safety regulations • Ensure full compliance with driving legislation and working time directives
Essential Skills: • Valid UK Category C+E (Class 1) Driving Licence • Valid CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card • Minimum of six months' continuous experience driving HGV Class 1 vehicles • Maximum of six penalty points for minor infringements (no major endorsements) • Excellent communication and time management skills • Professional, reliable, and safety-focused attitude
Desirable Experience: • Previous experience securing and strapping abnormal or awkward loads • Experience manoeuvring within tight delivery depots
Training Provided: • Driving assessment required prior to start • Three-day company induction programme • Full industry-related training and ongoing support throughout
