Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Worker to join our team. This role involves supporting the efficient operation of our warehouse through materials handling, stock management, and shipping and receiving activities. The successful candidate will play a vital part in maintaining smooth logistics processes and ensuring inventory accuracy. Prior warehouse experience and familiarity with warehouse management systems are highly desirable. The position offers an excellent opportunity to develop mechanical knowledge and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
* Handling materials, including loading, unloading, and moving stock within the warehouse by driving forklift.
* Operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently
* Managing stock levels using warehouse management systems such as AS400
* Picking and packing orders accurately for dispatch
* Assisting with shipping and receiving procedures to ensure timely deliveries
* Stocking shelves and maintaining organised storage areas
* Conducting regular inventory counts and reporting discrepancies
* Supporting maintenance of warehouse facilities, including basic mechanical tasks when required
* Ensuring health and safety standards are adhered to at all times during all activities
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential; Know how to drive a forklift will be advanced and desired.
* Knowledge of warehouse management systems, particularly AS400, is advantageous
* Mechanical aptitude or basic construction knowledge is beneficial for equipment maintenance tasks
* Experience with materials handling, stock control, picking & packing, shipping & receiving, load & unload operations
* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
* Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
* Valid forklift licence is desirable but not mandatory; training can be provided for suitable candidates
