Description Position Overview: The Quality Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the continuous improvement and compliance processes within the aged care facility. You will be responsible for assisting the facility to adhere to the Aged Care Quality Standards, and regulatory requirements, and maintains a safe, high-quality environment for residents. The role requires a detail-oriented, proactive individual with strong analytical skills and a passion for quality improvement in aged care services. Key Responsibilities: Quality Management: Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of quality improvement initiatives and programs. Support the facility in achieving and maintaining compliance with the Aged Care Quality Standards and other regulatory requirements. Conduct audits and assessments of clinical care, services, and operational procedures to ensure continuous quality improvement. Accreditation & Compliance: Assist in preparing for and supporting external audits and accreditation processes. Maintain records of audits, inspections, and other compliance documentation. Track and report on corrective actions arising from audits, incidents, or complaints, and ensure that issues are addressed in a timely manner. Data Analysis & Reporting: Collect, analyse, and report on quality data (e.g., resident satisfaction surveys, incident reports, risk management data). Prepare and present reports on quality performance to management and relevant stakeholders. Identify trends and areas for improvement and work with teams to implement changes. Training, Education & Support: Provide training and support to staff on quality improvement initiatives and regulatory requirements. Promote a culture of quality care through ongoing education and awareness programs. Resident Safety & Satisfaction: Assist in investigating and addressing complaints and feedback from residents, families, and staff. Support the implementation of resident safety initiatives, such as infection control protocols, risk assessments, and safety audits. Documentation & Record Keeping: Ensure accurate and timely documentation of quality improvement activities, audits, and compliance records. Maintain a central repository of all quality-related documentation, ensuring it is readily accessible and up to date. Key Requirements: Qualifications & Experience: Registered Nurses and EENs are encouraged to apply. Relevant qualification in Aged Care, Health Administration, or a related field. Previous experience in a quality or compliance role within the aged care or healthcare sector is highly desirable. Understanding of Aged Care Quality Standards and other regulatory frameworks applicable to the aged care sector. Experience with audit processes, quality management systems, and accreditation requirements Skills & Attributes: Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and identify trends. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage issues proactively. Other Requirements: Current police check (or willingness to obtain).
