The Job As an Engineering Tutor (Mechanical Bias), you will: * Teach and assess learners on engineering programmes up to Level 4 (including maths, health & safety, mechanical principles, and related technical subjects) * Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons, schemes of work, and assessments * Mentor and support apprentices, providing pastoral guidance as well as technical instruction * Monitor learner progress, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with awarding body requirements * Contribute to quality assurance processes, moderation, and staff training * Support the development of new teaching materials and blended learning approaches * Promote equality, diversity, safeguarding, and Prevent throughout your teaching * Assist with the management and maintenance of workshop facilities and equipment Ideal Candidate We’re looking for a motivated and knowledgeable tutor with: * A Level 4 qualification (minimum) in Engineering (Level 5 or above desirable) * Relevant industry experience in the engineering sector * A recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one) * Strong knowledge of engineering curriculum, lesson planning, assessment methods, and awarding body requirements (EAL, City & Guilds, Pearson) * Excellent communication, mentoring, and organisational skills * A passion for teaching and supporting learners from diverse backgrounds * Safeguarding, Prevent, and Equality & Diversity knowledge (or willingness to obtain) Assessor and IQA qualifications are desirable but not essential.
