Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Shift: 4 on 4 off Days + On Call
Job Description
The Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer will be joining a well-established manufacturing business operating within a bulk processing environment. This site-based role supports continuous production through a mix of reactive and planned maintenance. The site is mechanically biased, with most faults relating to wear components and material handling systems. It is a great opportunity for an engineer looking for a stable, long-term role within a close-knit engineering team, with a focus on keeping plant running efficiently rather than high-speed automation.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out reactive and planned maintenance across site machinery (majority reactive)
* Ensure plant and machinery operate efficiently to minimise downtime
* Diagnose and repair faults across mechanical and electrical systems
* Complete routine inspections and site walkarounds (safety, leaks, general condition)
* Work on components such as beater bars, bearings, chains, belts, sprockets and alignments
* Support production by maintaining equipment availability
* Participate in the on-call rota and respond to breakdowns where required
Technical Areas of Work
* Silos & storage bins
* Screw, bucket and belt conveyors
* Hammer mills and pellet mills
* Mixers and blending equipment
* Automated batching and dosing systems
* Weigh scales / load cells
* Bagging and bulk loading systems
* Palletising equipment
* Dust extraction systems
* Compressed air systems
* Motors, drives, sensors and basic PLC systems
Qualifications & Requirements
* Experience working within a manufacturing / processing / industrial environment
* Engineering qualification
* Commutable to site
* Electrical bias for multi-skilled maintenance
* Experience carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance
* Ability to diagnose faults and repair plant equipment independently
* Comfortable working on bulk handling / processing equipment
* Ability to fault find on PLCs
