About the team Activation Planning Manager are experts on the paid media landscape and how consumers interact with it. We architect and steward holistic media plans throughout their lifecycle, owning the creation of overall plans, cross-channel budget allocation, in flight cross-channel optimisation & reporting and post-campaign analysis. We are our clients’ key contacts for a unified view across all aspects of their campaigns, narrating the story of the campaign from planning recommendation through to PCA Position The Activation Planning Manager is responsible for contributing to the execution of biddable media activity (and display media bought on a reservation basis). This involves building strong cross-channel knowledge and developing supplier relationships to support flawless delivery of testing plans & media plans via analysis, optimisation and campaign management. The Activation Planning Manager will be the planning lead on all things related to activation on Mars in EMEA. Initially, the focus will be leveraging their knowledge of different Biddable channels and platforms (as well as knowledge of reservation-based media buying) over time to achieve practitioner level knowledge and skills across multiple channels, meaning flexible and adaptable working is at the core of this role. The role is to create and demonstrate successful management of the overall media plan to maximise new & existing customer awareness & sales growth for MARS, via effective planning, in-flight cross-channel optimisations and insightful post campaign analysis to inform future campaigns. You will own the day-to-day management of media plans and their proper implementation, working to fulfil agreed media objectives in the context of changing market conditions. You will demonstrate strong working knowledge of the overall media marketing landscape and keep abreast of new developments, using these to inform planning recommendations. We are looking for someone with great communication, project management and numerical skills who will thrive working with a fast paced, multi stakeholder client. Some of the things we’ll ask you to do : ● Responsible for creation of cross channel media plan and forecast delivery. ● Use appropriate performance & audience data to design and support your planning recommendations. ● Determine the best media mix for your campaigns through optimisations ● Supporting with creating clear briefs for, and evaluate responses from, the activation teams. Work collaboratively with them to finalise channel and publisher selections and budgets. ● Own the overall plan (as shared with clients), being the go-to person for campaign status and delivery, and the key point of contact for clients ● Co-create, maintain and lead the implementation of testing plans and supporting material. ● Create and manage cross-channel reporting templates, generating key charts/slides that clearly demonstrate insights that lead to optimisation opportunities. ● Collate and quality assure reports, develop insights and recommendations for the weekly cross-channel report. ● Meet regularly with vendors and have a relevant point of view on their offering and how it is developing. ● Contribute to the development of case studies that can be shared internally as learning and best practice. Some of the specific knowledge, skills and abilities you’ll bring to the role : ● Experience in a cross channel planning role on performance focused clients. ● Highly numerate with an analytical mind with an ability to spot trends and optimization opportunities ● Experience in and an enjoyment of campaign reporting - uncovering the insights that will ensure a cycle of continuous learning and campaign improvement. ● Strong organisational skills with an aptitude for managing projects, clients, vendors and agency stakeholders. ● A strong communicator who is confident and comfortable in front of clients and other stakeholders, and able to work to deadlines. ● Critical thinking / problem solving skills: you must be able to analyse data or a situation, draw conclusions and develop actionable recommendations ● Experience in managing others within a team or project environment ● Experience in forecasting expected outcomes of campaigns and manage spend accordingly. ● Familiarity with campaign evaluation metrics and different measurement techniques to understand media’s impact on sales/revenue. ● Excellent spreadsheet capability is a must (formulas e.g. vlookup, sumifs, pivot tables.)
