Senior Buyer – Rolls‑Royce SMR
We anticipate offering between £40,000 – £52,500 (DOE) with options at Derby, Warrington, or Manchester offices – hybrid working flexibility.
Role Purpose
* Deliver sourcing strategies and manage suppliers, coordinating with stakeholders at all levels internally and externally.
* Develop, deliver, and approve sourcing campaigns in accordance with business constraints (time, cost, quality).
* Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships throughout the procurement campaign lifecycle.
Key Selection Criteria
* Select and manage a global supply‑chain that delivers the most efficient and cost‑effective service for SMR development.
* Establish the commercial framework for suppliers, ensuring cost competitiveness, value for money, and continuous cost improvement.
* Ensure business and suppliers comply with all required processes.
Strategic Development
* Develop and implement global external supplier and commodity strategies that drive sustainable improvements in quality, cost and delivery.
* Run global and/or strategic tenders to define and execute Purchase‑to‑Pay (P2P) solutions underpinning the strategies.
* Manage supplier relationships and business development within assigned categories or projects.
Training & Qualification Requirements
* BA degree or equivalent significant industry experience.
* Ideally MCIPS qualified or equivalent.
Desirable Qualities
* Advanced MS Excel skills for cost modelling and reporting.
* Proven track record of delivering results.
* Global outlook with exposure to diverse cultures and work environments.
* Strong planning and project management skills.
* Commercial acumen.
* Experience in defining and delivering global category management and strategic sourcing activities.
* Supply‑chain management knowledge preferred.

* Obtain Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance.
* Satisfactory completion of Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
* Satisfactory completion of a basic financial probity check.
* Additional security screening due to nuclear industry safety regulations.
