Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Hartlepool Hub Team (Interface Team) for a highly motivated and skilled professional to join us as a Clinical Specialist on a 12-month maternity cover contract.
The successful candidate will provide strong clinical leadership to the Hub Team, supporting colleagues with initial assessments, triage, and effective signposting. You will play a key role in ensuring Trust targets are achieved while maintaining a high standard of care that is responsive to individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:-
1. Provide expert clinical oversight, guidance, and decision-making support.
2. Work collaboratively with partner agencies including statutory services, VCSE organisations, carers, and families.
3. Promote a culture of co-production, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Main duties of the job
We are seeking an individual with excellent communication skills, confidence in autonomous decision-making, and a passion for delivering high-quality mental health care.
You will work with a diverse population presenting with a broad spectrum of mental health needs, ranging from primary care presentations to complex and enduring conditions.
Leading on professional development and ensuring the delivery of robust evidence based practice.
To provide evidence based treatment planning.
To undertake ongoing audit of care and service delivery, underpinned by research and evidence-based practice.
To support the team manager and other senior clinical staff in establishing and maintaining high standards and continual improvement within the established governance framework.
To participate in clinical/professional and management supervision
To contribute to multi-disciplinary team working
To abide by all Trust policies and procedures
To be able to respond flexibly and creatively to challenges

Essential
4. Current Professional Registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council - RMN / RNLD/ RGN (RNSC - CAMHS Only)
5. Recognised Practice Assessor/Practice Supervisor or currently in progress of achieving.
6. Trained in Clinical Supervision and providing Clinical Supervision or in the process of achieving
7. And have Professional clinical knowledge and experience acquired through degree (or equivalent post registration study), supplemented by specialist training, experience, short courses at level 7 see below
8. For example Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma/Masters Degree, Intermediate Systemic Family Therapy/Postgraduate diploma in CBT/British Isles Dialectical Behaviour Therapy /NMP (Independent Prescriber), Psychosocial Interventionsd diploma in CBT/British Isles Dialectical Behaviour Therapy /NMP (Independent Prescriber)
9. And have Equivalent significant clinical experience such as working (minimum of 2 years) as a band 6 (or above) in relevant clinical area, together with evidence of relevant CPD to Level 7 or equivalent

10. Extensive knowledge of current issues relating to health needs of patients in the field of practice, regionally and nationally
11. Understanding and working knowledge of the legal framework and statutory obligations under the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act
12. Detailed understanding of Safeguarding and its application in practice
13. Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice.

15. Working knowledge of clinical medicines management
