The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Operations Engineer to join our team at Rocksavage Power Station. This is a fantastic chance to step into a leadership role where you can make an impact in the safe, reliable and efficient operation of Rocksavage. You will be part of a high-performing environment where you will support and mentor the wider Operations Team while developing your career in a role that's vital to our continued success and our overall plant reliability and performance.

This is a full-time day working role with flexibility required for emergency shift cover.


The Rocksavage Team


The Rocksavage team are highly skilled and experienced individuals, all focused on continually improving the way we operate, maintain, and manage the plant. Our Reliability Improvement Program has become one of the key drivers in improving how we work. With an ingrained mindset of 'doing the right thing every day' we're making great strides towards the Rocksavage vision of 'Target 2050. Leading the way to sustainable generation.' Our goal being to become the first hydrogen co-fired CCGT power station in the country.

What you'll be doing


Operational Leadership & Support: Support and provide cover for the Operations Manager when required, lead daily production meetings, and coordinate with Maintenance and Engineering teams to align priorities and drive operational improvements.

Safety & Compliance: Maintain authorisations under InterGen UK Safety Rules, be an active member of the Safety Rules Group, support training, governance, health and safety initiatives and auditing across the fleet.

Outage & Emergency Coordination: Lead outage planning and execution as our Operations Outage Coordinator, support STL's with plant return-to-service processes, undertake training including Safety Controller, Plant Controller and STL to provide emergency shift cover and out-of-hours support when required.

Process Improvement & Monitoring: Drive continuous improvement of operational processes, efficiency and safety; support defect reporting and Root Cause Analysis; and implement operational monitoring tools to ensure effective plant dispatch and asset management.

Team Development & Mentoring: Support STL's in ensuring all training and development of their team members is aligned with business requirements, take a key role is assisting with recruitment and mentoring efforts, and ensure consistency and high standards across the operational teams.

Systems & Contract Management: Act as JDE and NiSoft expert at site, manage service contracts, and support operational change processes (MoC, SRCC/SREC).


Why you?


As our new Operations Engineer, you'll be self-motivated, highly organised with strong interpersonal skills and commitment to high ethical standards. You'll thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment like InterGen and will be comfortable working within a lean structure where personal accountability is key You will bring at least 3 years' experience in power plant operations and a solid understanding of power generation processes along with technical expertise and previous operational leadership. Your comfortable supervising teams, leading outage coordination, driving improvement initiatives and applying your knowledge to ensure safe, efficient and compliant plant operations.

Education/Experience


Minimum of HND in a relevant Engineering discipline plus evidence of practical working experience preferred, we will consider alternative qualifications if you have the right knowledge and experience

Minimum of 3 years Power Plant O&M experience ideally within Operations
