We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Buyer to join our dynamic procurement team within a fast-paced construction environment. The ideal candidate will support purchasing activities, ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials and services. Working closely with our buyers to gain hands-on experience across all aspects of the purchasing functions of the business, familiarity with SAP Business One and strong computer background is highly advantageous.
Job description
* Order fulfilment ensuring that our European entities receive goods from UK parent company & UK manufacturing partners On Time In Full
* Liaise with suppliers to confirm pricing, availability, and delivery schedules.
* Expediating orders through our internal manufacturing & production facilities, such as our Fencing Manufacturing Factories & Powder Coating Plant to ensure deliveries made OTIF into our distribution sites.
* Coordinate with the procurement team to review each buyer's outstanding orders, communicate updates to the relevant sales contact once the necessary information has been gathered.
* Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and delivery information.
* Supplier Scorecards – Performance Evaluation
* Accountable for the procurement and inventory management of consumables across the business, ensuring timely availability of essential supplies to support operational efficiency.
* Responsible for coordinating with transport and logistics teams to arrange supplier collections
* Responsible for the creation, maintenance, and revision of Bills of Materials (BOMs) to support product development, manufacturing, and inventory control.

Key Skills & Experience:
* Previous experience in a purchasing or procurement role (construction industry preferred).
* Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
* High attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
* The ideal candidate will demonstrate advanced computer literacy, including expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems, data analysis tools, and general IT troubleshooting.
* Strong organisational and time management skills
Hours of Work - 7am until 4pm
Location - this role will be split across 2 sites in Halesowen
