Regional H&S Advisor – Southern UK
£50,000 - £55,000, plus Car Allowance, Bonus, Pension, Life Ins, etc.

Purpose of the Job
As a Regional Health and Safety Advisor, you’ll be the driving force behind our commitment to a safe and compliant workplace. You’ll provide both operational and strategic support where Health and Safety expertise is needed, ensuring our managers and employees are well-informed and equipped to uphold the highest safety standards across the business. Your role is pivotal in fostering a culture of safety and compliance, making a real impact on the well-being of our team and the success of our operations. This exciting opportunity involves time on the road, working directly with stakeholders and tackling critical projects.
Key Accountabilities
1. Coordinate and support managers in the investigation of accidents and incidents using the business tool.
2. Report all safety-related incidents and assist in root cause analysis against methodology, in an accurate and timely manner, to internal and external customers.
3. Compile statistics and infer trends from available safety data, using critical thinking.
4. Provide guidance and advice at all levels of the business from top management to employees.
5. Support managers to implement policies and procedures related to health and safety.
6. Assist in designing and implementing strategies to ensure H&S regulations are followed and improved.
7. Review and develop H&S policies and frameworks for existing and new processes.
8. Assist in formulating improvement plans for H&S, including setting objectives, priorities, and performance standards.
9. Monitor and review H&S management standards, systems, and processes where necessary.
10. Monitor changing business risk profiles and highlight emerging risks.
11. Ensure best practice in conjunction with legal compliance.
12. Advise and promote a positive H&S culture.
13. Ensure proactive identification and incorporation of new processes and practices.
14. Support the business to ensure compliance with legislation and reduce costs related to accidents and ill health.
15. Provide authoritative and independent advice.
16. Attend and contribute to local and business H&S meetings.
17. Research topics and provide credible sources of information to the business.
18. Liaise with legal representatives regarding personal injury claims.
19. Undertake project work to improve the H&S management system.
20. Complete gap analysis to ensure best-in-class H&S management.
Person Specification
Understanding essential legislation, guidance, and ACOPs is crucial. Continual development of technical skills and adherence to the IOSH code of conduct is required.
* Hold or be working towards GRAD IOSH level.
* Hold an industry-recognized H&S qualification.
* Auditing experience/qualification is desirable.
* Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
* Build and maintain relationships across the organization.
* Work independently and handle ambiguous problems.
* Travel with overnight stays as needed.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
