Pay & Benefits: Salary : £27,000 – £29,000 per annum, depending on experience
Bonus Scheme : After a successful
12-week probation period, employees are
enrolled onto a performance-based bonus scheme, earning an additional
£1.50 – £4.00 per hour
on top of the basic hourly rate
A respected and long-established furniture manufacturer based in Cramlington is seeking a skilled
Upholsterer
to join their Upholstery Department on a
permanent day shift. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented professional with a strong background in traditional techniques to contribute to the production of high-quality standard and bespoke furniture.
The Role Reporting to the Upholstery Supervisor, the successful candidate will use a variety of traditional and modern upholstery techniques to produce finely crafted pieces. The role involves both repeat production and one-off bespoke commissions, requiring precision, craftsmanship, and pride in quality.
Key Responsibilities Upholster a range of furniture using traditional methods, including deep buttoning and other specialist techniques.
Accurately measure, cut, and sew a variety of fabrics and leathers.
Work from detailed specifications and supervisor instructions.
Consistently meet high standards of finish and build quality.
Assist with bespoke furniture production where required.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment.
Follow all health and safety procedures.
Support wider workshop tasks as needed.
Requirements Minimum 5 years' experience
in upholstery, ideally with traditional methods.
High attention to detail and strong craftsmanship.
Ability to meet production deadlines and solve problems independently.
Experience in
bespoke furniture
is highly desirable.
