Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) Resident Doctor (DCT Equivalent)

An opportunity has arisen within theTrust to join the Oral and Maxillo Facial (OMFS) Department from September 2025on a fixed term contract as a Trust Doctor.
The Department carries out the fullrange of oral and facial surgery, including oral and facial malignancy andmicrovascular surgery, facial deformity, facial hard and soft tissue trauma,surgical dermatology and dentoalveolar surgery.There will be a requirement to cross cover out of hours with colleaguesin Ear Nose and Throat (ENT).
Applicants should possess BDS orequivalent dental qualification as recognized by the GDC, hold full GDCregistration.
Salary will be dependent on previousexperience.
Main duties of the job
The postis centred on Sunderland Royal Hospital. The department overs both elective and'on call' commitments to hospitals south of the Tyne, including Shotley Bridge,South Tyneside and University Hospital of North Durham.
It may be very occasionally necessary to visithospitals in the surrounding area for surgical lists and to attend emergencies.
Theclinical work will include:
* Theatre Lists.
* Ward work to provide care for pre &post-operative patients.
* Medical Examination of Patients.
* Attending to emergency patients presenting toA&E in Sunderland.
* Dento-alveolar and minor oral surgery.
* 1:7 on call cover including cross cover withENT during out of hours on a joint rota.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* BDS or MBBS or equivalent.
* MRCS Part 1.
Profession/ Registration
* Full GDC or GMC registration.
* Ability to provide complete confidentiality.
