We also cross-sell the full range of wholesale products and services offered by the Scotiabank Group.Scotiabank offers an exciting opportunity to join the London-based Business Risk Management team of a Canadian Bank commencing in June 2026.This 10-week programme is designed for students in their first year of study (or second year of a four year degree) and will offer unique insights into many of the Bankbusiness areas allowing you to learn the nature of the non-financial risk and control framework that protects the Bank.This programme is rotational and will enable you to understand how Business Risk Management oversee the strategies employed by the Bank to mitigate risks. The rotations will comprise ofweeks with the Business Risk Management team who support the Capital Markets business, followed by 5 weeks with the Anti Money Laundering Advisory and Control team.What You Can Expect:During the programme, you will:Assist with implementing the control framework in the first lineHelp to administer various monitoring activitiesPrepare periodic reports for onward presentationLiaise with other control and support functions to co-ordinate approaches to risk mitigationPool and manipulate sources of data for analysis and reportingWork on new initiatives designed to enhance business performance Assist with risk assessments (Risk and Control Self Assessments) with various desks to identify risk and suggest improvementsAssist with documenting Operational Risk Events to understand route cause of the issues and possible remediationsReview the local regulatory environment within which the bank operatesComplete daily controls relating to remote bookingTest existing control effectivenessAssist with preparation of governance packs to manage riskAssist with mandatory trader supervision tasksIdentify opportunities for process improvementComplete an intern project assignment and present it to the wider teamAny other ad hoc work tasks assigned by managementContribute to the assessment of Sanctions, Adverse News and Politically Exposed EntitiesProgramme Highlights:Our internship is designed to give you real insight into life at Scotiabank.
