The Pastoral Support Worker will work in partnership with school staff and families to enable our pupils and young people to succeed in their educational placement and gain life skills in line with their EHCP.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Complement the delivery of the school curriculum.
2. Provide pastoral support to students to help them access their school placement daily.
3. Support students in meeting the annual targets of their EHCP.
4. Liaise with clinical, teaching, and support staff to share strategies.
5. Participate in developing and reviewing support documentation, including risk assessments and individual learning plans.
6. Maintain necessary records and assist in preparing routine reports.
7. Be physically fit and energetic.
8. Provide absence cover for class support when required.
9. Be resilient and passionate about improving the lives of young people with Learning Disabilities and Autism.
10. Demonstrate empathy and patience.

Oakham Shires School is an independent special school for 11-18-year-olds with autism and related needs. It delivers a primary curriculum to pupils who have struggled in mainstream or larger SEN settings, supporting them to achieve their outcomes and develop life skills.
