About the Role
As our SEND Team Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading the coordination and delivery of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) across the 0-25 age range. You'll oversee a dedicated team of SEND Officers and support staff, ensuring compliance with legislation while securing the best outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead, motivate, and support a team in delivering high-quality EHCPs that reflect the needs and aspirations of children and young people.
2. Drive forward improvement plans and contribute to the development of robust SEND services.
3. Provide expert advice to schools, colleges, parents, and professionals.
4. Chair multi-agency decision-making panels, mediation sessions, and tribunals.
5. Champion a person-centred approach, ensuring children's voices are at the heart of planning and delivery.
6. Manage SEND data systems, tracking outcomes and supporting continuous service improvement.
7. Collaborate across services to ensure effective placements and transitions-especially in preparing for adulthood.
8. Ensure statutory timescales are met and EHCP quality is consistently high.
9. Contribute to inspection readiness, professional training delivery, and service transformation.
Who We're Looking For

10. Proven experience of managing SEND processes in an education, health, or local authority setting.
11. Strong leadership and team management skills with a commitment to high standards.
12. A deep understanding of the Children and Families Act, SEND Code of Practice, and related statutory frameworks.
13. Confidence in decision-making, data analysis, and multi-agency working.
14. A commitment to inclusion, equality, and empowering children and families.
