About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and skilled DT Engineering Teacher to join a forward‑thinking secondary school in Kirkham (PR4). This is a full‑time position suitable for a dedicated professional who can deliver high‑quality teaching and learning across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5.
The successful candidate will play a key role in inspiring students to develop their knowledge, creativity, and practical skills in engineering, preparing them for further education and future careers in the field.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons in DT Engineering at KS4 and KS5
* Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations
* Assess, monitor, and report on student progress in line with school policies
* Maintain a safe and well‑organised workshop environment
* Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities
* Support students of varying abilities to achieve their full potential
Candidate Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Proven experience teaching DT Engineering at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 (essential)
* Strong subject knowledge and a passion for engineering and design
* Ability to manage practical lessons safely and effectively
* Excellent classroom management and communication skills
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
