Job Introduction
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our Reablement Team based in Bath.
This is a very rewarding role within the Reablement Service, a short-term service supporting people in their own homes or in Residential or Nursing Homes, aiming to maximise and maintain independence through rehabilitation and support.
You will join a supportive, multidisciplinary team including Reablement Therapy Workers, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Therapy Assistant Practitioners, Care Co-Ordinators, and Administrative support. The team collaborates closely with local GPs, District Nurses, and Social Workers.
This role involves travel around Bath and North East Somerset, so a Full UK Driving License and access to a vehicle are essential.
This is a full-time position based at St Martin’s Hospital, Bath. Service hours are from 8:00 to 22:00, with core hours typically 8:00-16:00, 9:00-18:00, and 8:00-14:00 once weekly. The service operates seven days a week; staff are expected to work weekends and bank holidays on a rota, with enhancements for unsocial hours per AfC rates.
Main Responsibilities
* Conduct therapeutic assessments, diagnoses, and treatments with patients using person-centred goals.
* Deliver high-standard, evidence-based Occupational Therapy services in community settings, including assessments, care planning, rehabilitation, and therapeutic support.
* Manage own caseload, working with rehabilitation therapy workers to implement therapeutic programmes.
* Provide supervision to junior Occupational Therapists, Therapy Assistant Practitioners, and Reablement therapy workers.
The Ideal Candidate
* Holds a Degree in Occupational Therapy.
* Registered with HCPC as an Occupational Therapist.
* Possesses a Full UK Driver’s License and access to a vehicle.
