Senior Conveyancing Paralegal – Sheffield
Our client, a very reputable firm, is looking to appoint a Senior Conveyancing Paralegal to join their team based in Sheffield. You will be tasked with assisting & supporting fee earners within the team.
Essential Experience and Skills
- Experience working within the legal sector
- Knowledge of the conveyancing process
- Proven experience supporting fee earners
- Knowledge of MS Office & case management systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational skills and high attention to detail
- Strong administrative and support skills
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting on a varied caseload of residential property transactions
- Dealing with client enquiries, providing updates & taking instructions
- Preparing correspondence, forms & documents in relation to instructions and supervision
- Assisting fee earners with the management & progression of transactions
- Preparing sale contracts & relevant support documentation
- Facilitating exchange of contracts in relation to instructions
- Preparing & arranging financial statements, SDLT submissions & certificates of title for advance funds
- Ensuring all new build warranties are submitted & intercepted as soon as possible
- Dealing with the preparation of Help to Buy incentives
- Acting as a point of contact for clients via telephone & face to face, recording accurate messages
- Liaising with clients, estate agents, financial advisors, mortgage lenders & other law firms as required
- Building & maintaining relationships with clients & third parties
- Drafting mortgage reports, search reports, contract packs, SDLT returns and legal forms (TR1, Deeds etc)
- Flagging potential inaccuracies or issues to fee earners
- Sending documents to clients for signing
- Reviewing sales enquiries on simple transactions
- Ordering searches, SIM searches and obtaining ID, statements & declaration from giftors
- Completing initial compliance checks for fee earner approval
- Completing completion set ups, preparing handover for completion, and conducting exchanges & completions under supervision
- Reporting to lenders on inaccuracies in mortgage offers and raising enquiries on search results
- Independently running complex sale matters & simple freehold purchases
- Conducting initial source of funds review on purchase
- Checking ledger handbooks to ensure compliance
Salary & Working Hours
Salary: £26,000 – £30,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm with a 1-hour lunch break.
