Finance Officer
Winsford
6 Month Contract
£19.00 – £21.00 per Hour Umbrella Rate
Role Purpose
We are working with a well-established organisation in Winsford, currently looking to appoint an experienced Finance Officer on a 6-month temporary contract. Responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the organisation’s financial ledger and associated systems. Supports the wider finance team with reconciliations, reporting, and compliance, while also managing and supervising junior finance staff.
Finance Officer Responsibilities
Maintain and oversee the financial ledger, ensuring data accuracy and coding integrity.
Perform regular reconciliations in line with agreed schedules.
Support preparation of management reports, budgets, returns, and year-end accounts.
Lead on the day-to-day operation of creditors, debtors, and banking functions.
Supervise Finance Assistants, including performance reviews and development.
Provide financial advice and system training to non-finance staff.
Administer the Construction Industry Scheme and liaise with external stakeholders, including auditors and banks.
Contribute to continuous improvement of financial systems and controls.
What We’re Looking For
AAT or equivalent qualification
Experience in a finance environment, including reconciliations and use of large finance systems
Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
Strong communication and organisational skills
Supervisory or team leadership experience

Additional Information
This is a full-time role based on-site in Winsford. It is offered on a 6-month temporary basis, with the possibility of extension depending on business needs. The position is ideally suited to candidates who are available at short notice.
