LIFEGUARD
HOURS OF WORK: The pool is generally open 6am to 10pm throughout the year. This role would cover 37.5 hours per week on a shift rota who work on a rota system between these hours
Main areas of the role
To be a member of the team by assisting the pool manager/ assistant pool manager in the daily operations of the swimming pool complex. Ensure the safety of the users and compliance with all safety legislation and procedures.
* To be vigilant and proactive in terms of providing a safe environment for College pupils under “Duty of Care” procedures.
* To be proactive and supportive when dealing with Health Club Members and external swim clubs, being vigilant of their needs and focused on service.
* Ensure the pool and surrounding area is maintained in a safe condition in compliance with current Health and Safety legislation.
* Engagement with all pool Risk Assessments; updating and/or creating as necessary.
* Maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the pool complex.
* Ensure the correct behaviour and use of the pool by all users in accordance with the pool’s rules and safety regulations.
* Ensure all the pools NOPs, EAP and documented procedures are adhered to. From time-to-time fully assist in the updating of these procedures.
* Carry out routine plant and building works to ensure correct water and atmospheric conditions are maintained. Engagement with the College work-service protocols.
* Assist the manager in developing pool activities (commercial contracts) and act as a key ‘customer manager’ for nominated external clubs.
* When required, order specific pool consumables from the various external suppliers.
* Provide full cover for pool operations and activities in the absence of the pool manager.
