Embedded Digital Design Engineer – Team Lead
Location: Stevenage (relocation package may be available)
Salary: Up to £65,000 (depending on experience)
Working Pattern: Hybrid, typically 3–4 days on-site per week

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an Embedded Design Team Lead to take ownership of a growing portfolio of advanced embedded digital projects. In this role, you’ll balance technical leadership, people management, and project delivery, making a real impact on some of the most exciting and challenging products and technologies in defence today.

What You’ll Be Doing
* Leading, inspiring, and developing a team of embedded digital engineers.
* Overseeing workload planning, bids, and delivery of technical work packages.
* Working across a diverse portfolio, from DSP systems (e.g. Image Processing, Software Defined Radios) to SoC systems and safety/security-critical platforms.
* Designing and modelling embedded systems, including partitioning functionality between software and FPGA.
* Supporting integration and testing of embedded solutions on hardware platforms.
* Driving innovation, continuous improvement, and best practice within the team.
What We’re Looking For
* Proven team leadership experience within an engineering environment.
* Strong background in Digital Hardware Design, FPGA Design (firmware), or Embedded Software Design.
* Experience with embedded digital design and system modelling.
* Knowledge of integration and testing of embedded systems.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire.
* Strong project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and delivery.
* A drive for innovation and improvement, with the ability to challenge the norm.

* Salary: up to £65,000 (depending on experience).
