We are looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join a growing multidisciplinary consultancy in Exeter. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced geotechnical professional to take a leading role in delivering a wide range of infrastructure, residential, commercial, and renewable energy projects across the South West.
The successful Senior Geotechnical Engineer will join a highly regarded technical team and will be responsible for managing ground investigations, producing detailed geotechnical assessments, mentoring junior engineers, and developing strong client relationships. You will play a key role in project delivery from tender stage through to design recommendations and reporting.
The successful Senior Geotechnical Engineer will:
Have a degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
Have several years of UK geotechnical consultancy experience
Be experienced in managing and interpreting ground investigations
Have strong knowledge of geotechnical design and reporting
Be confident liaising with clients, contractors, and regulators
Hold a full UK driving licence
Ideally be working towards or already hold Chartered statusKey responsibilities:
Managing site investigations and supervising fieldwork
Producing geotechnical interpretative reports and foundation recommendations
Slope stability and earthworks assessments
Mentoring graduate and junior engineers
Supporting business development and client management
