Our client is a multidisciplinary consultancy who offer a wide range of specialist services across Scotland. With offices in Inverness, Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
They currently have a team of 20 Ecological Consultants and 15 ECoW who work on a wide variety of projects, including large housing developments, local harbours, as well as private residential projects.
Your new role
The main responsibilities of your new role will include:
1. Mentor and manage junior ecologists.
2. Client & project management.
3. Undertake ecological surveys and assessments, including UKHab and protected species surveys, ecological impact assessments etc.
4. Provide ecological advice and support to clients and across internal teams.
5. Manage and deliver ecological projects, including the production of technical reports and ecological management plans.
6. Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
7. Ensurepliance with relevant legislation and best practice guidelines.
What you'll need to succeed
8. 4+ years consultancy experience
9. The ability to work independently and as part of a team, sometimes in remote locations, staying away when required and sometimes working unsociable hours.
10. The ability to plan/deliver basic habitat and protected species surveys / reports ( (PEA, EIA chapters, BNG assessments, bats, Badger, Water Vole, etc.).
11. Full UK driving licence and use of a car.
12. Good report writing skills.
13. Experience managing simple projects.
