The Role: We invite applications for a 1 FTE position as Senior Research Fellowship in Space Sciences and Hardware Functional Testing at the Institute of Cosmology and Gravitation (ICG) at the University of Portsmouth. The successful applicant will have the exciting opportunity to play a critical leading role in growing space activities at the University with a focus on space sciences research and/or hardware functional testing and will work closely with the space team in space mission design, space data, the electrical and mechanical engineering department and ASTA labs. This will include participating in and occasionally organising the ESA Electronics and Materials Packaging in Space (EMPS) conference, research, and teaching in space sciences and electronics and materials testing. We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate with leadership qualities and experience working on developing space projects to join our dynamic fast-paced team as we build exciting new interdisciplinary research programs. Whilst there is a need to be in Portsmouth a few days a week, hybrid working is available for this role. This appointment is a fixed-term contract until 31 October 2028.
