Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide senior medical input to the team
The team is a newly transformed CMHT working to meet the needs of the NHS long term plan
Full time administration support available to support the role
Regular senior medical away days with a focus on well-being

Person Specification Behaviours and Values Essential
* In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice
* Demonstrate commitment to shared leadership & collaborative working to deliver improvement
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a MDT
* Able to form a good working relationship with the peer group
* Willingness to undertake training and CPD in areas appropriate to this post
* Ability to work under pressure
* Willingness to participate in in-house training
Knowledge and Experience Essential
* Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice
* Approval under Section12 of the Mental Health Act for at least 5 and a half years and practical experience in the use of Mental Health Act
* Good working knowledge of the mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards
* At least 12 years experience since primary medical qualification, of which least 6 years in adult psychiatry
Desirable
* Additional Postgraduate Qualifications
* Publication of original research
* Management training
* Completed training as Clinical and Educational Supervisor, and experience in supervising medical and non medical colleagues
Skills and Abilities Essential
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Evidence of the ability to communicate with patients, colleagues and staff at all levels.
* Autonomous clinical practitioner
* Ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences including courts and tribunals
* Ability to motivate and develop other medical colleagues and other MDT members
* To balance individual requirements against those of the Directorate and Trust as a whole
* An understanding of the political and financial framework within which the Services operate
* Able to meet duties under MHA and MCA
* Post holder will need to take initiative and work in a self-directed manner.
Desirable
* Wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to post within NHS or comparable service
* Able to plan and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training relevant to this post
* Experienced in clinical research and / or service evaluation
