The Role
We are seeking a proactive Dispatch Operative to join our team. You will be crucial in managing the efficient and accurate preparation and dispatch of goods from our warehouse/production facility to customers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Quality Control: Acting as the final point of inspection to ensure orders are accurate, complete, and undamaged before dispatch.
* Documentation & Administration: Generating and attaching shipping labels, using in-house systems for labels and customer dispatch notifications and managing dispatch paperwork.
* Loading & Unloading: Safely loading pallets or individual packages into vehicles (vans/trucks) and unloading incoming inventory.
* Logistics Coordination: Booking collections with courier networks (e.g., DPD, APC, DHL, FedEx) and ensuring on-time delivery.
* Warehouse Maintenance: Keeping the dispatch area clean, tidy, and adhering to health and safety regulations.
* Delivery Driving (If required): Driving company vehicles to deliver products to clients, often requiring a clean, full UK driving license.
Essential Skills and Requirements
* Previous Experience: Experience in a similar warehouse, production, or logistics role is preferred.
* Physical Fitness: The role is physically demanding, involving heavy lifting and manual handling.
* Attention to Detail: High accuracy in picking and packing to minimize errors.
* IT Skills: Basic computer literacy for using inventory management software and printing labels.
* Licensing: Full UK driving license is essential. A Forklift (FLT) Counterbalance license is highly desirable.
* Communication: Strong verbal and written English skills for coordinating with team members and carriers.
Working Environment and Conditions
* Fast-Paced: Working to strict deadlines and daily targets to ensure timely dispatch.
