Class 1 HGV Driver Role at Thames Water
As a Class 1 HGV Driver, you will be an ambassador for Thames Water, representing our values on the road and providing first-class customer service. You will work within the Logistics Delivery team, operating a fleet of Potable Water Tankers to support reactive and planned water deliveries to customers. Your responsibilities include taking water samples before loading and discharging into hydrants or reservoirs.
This role requires following established processes and procedures. You will drive both HGV 1 and HGV 2 vehicles, which may have manual or automatic gearboxes, along with support vehicles like Welfare vans.
Job Details
* Working an average of 38 or 45 hours per week.
* Based at Mogden STW.
* Full training provided, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
Shift Patterns and Salary
* 45 hours/week: 4 days on, 4 days off, 5 days on, 3 days off — £49,599
* 38 hours/week: 4 days on, 4 days off — £42,435
Candidate Requirements
* Experience as a Class 1 HGV Driver.
* Comfortable working on rotational shifts, including days and nights.
* No more than 6 penalty points; no DR or IN convictions.
* Full Driver CPC and valid Driver Tachograph card.
* Knowledge of Transport Law and the Road Traffic Act.
* Understanding of Drivers' Hours rules and Working Time regulations.
