DUTIES
Your duties as the Chief Engineer / Facilities Manager include:
Managing All Engineering and Facilities Operations: Lead maintenance, repair, and technical services across the property
Planning Preventive Maintenance: Develop and deliver planned maintenance schedules to maximise equipment performance
Promoting Health and Safety Compliance: Implement risk assessments, managing audits and safe systems of work, including H&S reporting
Leading and Developing the Team: Train, mentor, and manage staff to ensure high standards of service delivery
Controlling Budgets and Expenditure: Monitor departmental spend and manage supplier relationships effectively
Driving Sustainability Initiatives: Lead energy efficiency and environmental responsibility programmes
Coordinating Contractors and Projects: Oversee refurbishments and ensure work is completed to specification and on time
Maintaining Accurate Records: Ensure compliance documentation, inspections, and safety logs are up to date
Managing Life Safety Systems: Conduct and record fire alarm and life safety tests in line with legislation
Ensuring Exceptional Service Delivery: Maintain operational excellence to support the guest and colleague experience
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Proven experience of managing engineering or facilities operations within a hotel, resort, or large commercial environment
Background in property maintenance, building services, or engineering management
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to motivate teams
Excellent knowledge of health and safety, compliance, and planned maintenance systems
Organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively
Recognised technical qualification or degree in Engineering or a related discipline preferred
Professional, collaborative, and results-driven approach with a focus on quality and efficiency
